Choose Stainless Finishing Nails that Resist Discoloration

If you build items for the outdoors such as furniture, decks, railings, paneling or any other products that will be exposed to water or humidity, you may need finishing stainless steel nails. As you may know, finishing nails are used to fasten pieces in such a way that the nails are minimally visible. Because you want to keep the nail heads out of sight, it is important that they not rust or discolor. Stainless steel offers this benefit.

Our Brad Head Finishing Nails available in three grades of corrosion resistance including Brite (Non-Galvanized), Hot Dipped Galvanized, and 304 Grade Stainless Steel:

Brite (Non-Galvanized) provides no protection against the elements and is best suited for interior or enclosed applications only. If left exposed these nails will corrode over time. Not recommended for ACQ Treated Lumber.

Hot Dip Galvanized are literally dipped into Molten Zinc until a thick uniform coating is achieved across the entire surface of the nail. Hot Dip Galvanized is the highest level of zinc galvanization available. Meets the minimum requirement for ACQ Treated Lumber but is Not Recommended. For ACQ Treated lumber we recommend Stainless Steel.

304 Grade Stainless Steel is best suited for typical outdoor applications to avoid nail corrosion and discoloration. ACQ-treated lumber, redwood, cedar, and acidic or oil-based exotic woods. Stainless gets its name from the fact that it will not change colors due to rust or tarnish. The reason for its “cleanliness” is that it contains at least 10.5% chromium, which creates a protective coating of chromium oxide on the steel. Finishing stainless steel nails contain such a coating, which means that they will not discolor.

Our finishing nails come in a variety of lengths, diameters, as well as affordable quantities. No matter which one you purchase, you can rest easy that all FastenerUSA stainless steel finishing nails are manufactured with the highest attention to quality.

Another feature that many customers appreciate is that all of our nails come with free shipping. In three to five days, you will receive your order if you are located in the continental US. Of course, you can also get your nails more quickly but will Express rates will apply.
