We offer a variety of 15 degree wire collated coil nails that can be used for a variety of applications. Available lengths include 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2", 2-3/16”, 2-1/4”, 2-3/8”, 2-1/2", 3”, 3-1/4", and 3-1/2".
The CN series of 15 degree wire weld collated coil nails are available in five different grades of corrosion resistance including Brite (Non-Galvanized), Electro Galvanized, ASTM A153-D Hot Dip Galvanized, 304 Grade Stainless Steel, and 316 Grade Stainless Steel:
Brite (Non-Galvanized) 15 degree coil nails are best suited for interior, non-exposure applications where corrosion is not a factor. No corrosion resistance. Not recommended for ACQ Treated Lumber.
Electro Galvanized 15 degree coil nails are best suited for interior applications and light exterior outdoor projects where corrosion is not a concern. Electro Galvanization provides a very thin layer of zinc coating with a measure of protection against the elements. Over time these nails may corrode with prolonged exposure to the elements. Not recommended for ACQ Treated Lumber.
ASTM A153-D Hot Dip Galvanized 15 degree nails meet and/or exceeds the United States standard for Hot Dip Zinc Mass Coating of ASTM A153 class D Fasteners. HDG grade nails are first cut to length and heads formed from a large spool of brite steel wire rod. Then nails are Hot Dipped into Molten Zinc until a thick uniform coating is achieved across the entire surface of the nail. Next, the nails are either packaged in bulk or collated together into strips or coils. Our HDG Nails meet and or exceed the ASTM A153 Class D Fastener specification. Meets the minimum requirement for ACQ Treated Lumber but is Not Recommended. For ACQ Treated lumber we recommend Stainless Steel.
304 Grade Stainless Steel 15 degree nails are best suited for typical outdoor applications to avoid nail corrosion and discoloration. ACQ-treated lumber, redwood, cedar, and acidic or oil-based exotic woods.
316 Grade Stainless Steel 15 degree wire collated coil nails are best suited for tropical, seaside, salt water contact applications, or any project near large bodies of water. Recommended for all outdoor applications with ACQ-treated lumber, redwood, cedar, and acidic or oil-based exotic woods where Marine Grade fasteners are needed to avoid unsightly stains, streaks, corrosion and discoloration.
Customers may also choose from screw shank, ring shank, or smooth shank 15 degree wire collated coil nails. Screw shank nails increase holding power as they twist while being fired, while ring shank nails have annular threads that help prevent nails form backing out over time. Smooth shank nails do not have grooves or rings around the shank area.
