Our B16 series 16 gauge straight (no angle) finishing nails are universally compatible with nearly every 16 gauge straight finish nailer in the market. We carry these nails in three grades of corrosion resistance including Electro Galvanized, 304 Grade Stainless Steel, and 316 Grade Stainless Steel:
Electro Galvanized is best suited for interior trim applications and light exterior outdoor projects where corrosion is not a concern. Electro Galvanization provides a very thin layer of zinc coating with a measure of protection against the elements. Over time these nails may corrode with prolonged exposure to the elements. Not recommended for ACQ Treated Lumber.
304 Grade Stainless Steel is best suited for typical outdoor applications to avoid nail corrosion and discoloration. ACQ-treated lumber, redwood, cedar, and acidic or oil-based exotic woods.
316 Grade Stainless Steel is best suited for tropical, seaside, salt water contact applications, or any project near large bodies of water. Recommended for all outdoor applications with ACQ-treated lumber, redwood, cedar, and acidic or oil-based exotic woods where Marine Grade fasteners are needed to avoid unsightly stains, streaks, corrosion and discoloration.
These nails are used primarily for finish carpentry and trim woodworking DIY or commercial projects, including furniture, door and window casings, moulding, upholstery trim panels, and picture frames. Choose the right size for the job—from 3/4" to 2-1/2" straight nails. You can also purchase our variety pack if you need several sizes but not a lot of stock. We also have case quantities available for the professional trim carpenter.
To avoid nail rusting and unsightly discoloration in outdoor applications, we recommend our 16 gauge straight stainless steel nails. These are also suitable for woodwork involving ACQ-treated lumber, cedar, redwood, and acidic or oil-based exotic woods. For applications likely to come into contact with salt water or near large bodies of water, our 316-grade stainless steel nails should be used. These marine-grade nails are capable of withstanding more extreme environments.
For more delicate woodworking projects, we also carry 18 gauge brad nails as well as micro pins. Feel free to consult with our experts here in FastenerUSA for any assistance on choosing the right nail for your project.
