Duplex coil nails are common nails primarily used for temporary work applications such as wooden forms for concrete as well as wooden scaffolding. Unlike other types of nails, the two heads of these duplex head nails prevent them from being embedded permanently into the wood, making them ideal for building forms and scaffolds. Since the second head of these coil nails allow for easy extraction during disassembly, they are also sometimes referred to in the industry as “scaffold nails” or "duplex concrete nails"
These duplex head nails hold a high utility value because they can be reused in a variety of construction work, such as for precast concrete forms, wood blocking for flatbed trucks, rail cars, and cabinetry jobs. The smooth shank of FastenerUSA duplex coil nails also contribute in their easy removal from form boards of different temporary construction modes. Having a smooth body between the head and point of the nail decreases its pull out resistance, making them easier to extract compared to nails with rings or spirals on the shanks.
For faster assembly time, you can also pair our duplex coil nails with the NailPro Duplex Coil Framing Nailer, which can be used for both duplex head and standard head coil nail applications. Using a nail gun during your work will greatly increase your application speed and help lessen the chances of the wood splitting, which may likely occur then subjected to repeated blows of a hammer. Blowouts are common encounters when nails that are manually driven into the wooden structure splinter the surface or penetrate soft areas instead of going straight in.
Deconstructing walls, racks, braces and other temporary structures can be made easier with duplex coil nails. Now you can build more scaffolds and other temporary support structures using less time and effort than it would take if you use ordinary nails or screws.
The CNDUP series of 15 degree wire weld collated duplex coil nails are available only in Brite (Non-Galvanized):
