Our HDG grade 20-22 Degree Plastic strip nails meet and/or exceed the U.S. standard for Hot Dip Zinc Mass Coating of ASTM A153 Class D fasteners. These nails are manufactured by first cutting them to length and forming the heads using a large spool of bright steel wire rod. They are then hot dipped into molten zinc until a thick uniform coating appears across the entire surface.
The A153-D Hot Dipped Galvanized Nails available on this page come in lengths from 2” to 3 1/2". These nails are collated together by a plastic strip and are compatible with 20 to 22 degree angle framing nailers. We offer smooth, ring, and screw or spiral shank strip nails. Ring shank nails, in particular, offer superior holding power that prevents them from backing out once driven.
Applications include framing, siding, decking, fencing, roofing, and box and crate assembly. Please click on each product featured on this page to see specific applications.
Our hot-dipped galvanized nails are manufactured to stand up against the elements and meet the minimum requirement for ACQ-treated lumber. However, we don't recommend these nails for this type of wood. Instead, stainless steel nails should be used for permanently fastening into ACQ-treated lumber.
