Our selection of coil roofing nails come in a variety of grades and shank types to fit your roofing needs. Meeting the industry standard for coil roofing nails these fasteners are made with a 3/8" diameter head, .120 (11 gauge) shank diameter, and are collated at a 15 degree angle. Considered a specialty nail, these will fit virtually all brands of roofing coil nailers. We offer a range of nail lengths from 3/4" to 1 3/4".
The CRN series of 15 degree wire weld collated coil roofing nails are available in four different grades of corrosion resistance including Electro Galvanized, ASTM A153-D Hot Dip Galvanized, 304 Grade Stainless Steel, and 316 Grade Stainless Steel:
Electro Galvanized is best suited for standard roofing applications and light exterior outdoor projects where corrosion is not a concern. Electro Galvanization provides a very thin layer of zinc coating with a measure of protection against the elements. Over time these nails may corrode with prolonged exposure to the elements. Not recommended for ACQ Treated Lumber.
ASTM A153-D Hot Dip Galvanized meets and/or exceeds the United States standard for Hot Dip Zinc Mass Coating of ASTM A153 class D Fasteners. HDG grade nails are first cut to length and heads formed from a large spool of brite steel wire rod. Then nails are Hot Dipped into Molten Zinc until a thick uniform coating is achieved across the entire surface of the nail. Next, the nails are either packaged in bulk or collated together into strips or coils. Our HDG Nails meet and or exceed the ASTM A153 Class D Fastener specification. Meets the minimum requirement for ACQ Treated Lumber but is Not Recommended. For ACQ Treated lumber we recommend Stainless Steel.
304 Grade Stainless Steel is best suited for typical outdoor applications to avoid nail corrosion and discoloration. ACQ-treated lumber, redwood, cedar, and acidic or oil-based exotic woods.
316 Grade Stainless Steel is best suited for tropical, seaside, salt water contact applications, or any project near large bodies of water. Recommended for all outdoor applications with ACQ-treated lumber, redwood, cedar, and acidic or oil-based exotic woods where Marine Grade fasteners are needed to avoid unsightly stains, streaks, corrosion and discoloration.
Smooth and ring shank coil roofing nails are available. While the former is at par with industry standards, ring shank nails offer more holding power thanks to the annular thread that helps prevent backing out over time.
Our roofing coil nails can be used for a variety of applications including asphalt and fiberglass shingles, tar paper, insulation board, cementitious fiber board products, and vinyl siding.
