Hot Dipped Galvanized Coil Nails to fit multiple tools and applications

We take Hot Dipped Galvanizing very seriously. We do not believe in cutting corners when it comes to quality. For Hot Dip Galvanized Nails the process is simple but so often neglected by others. The name “Hot Dipped Galvanized” describes the process by which the fastener is galvanized. For a nail to be called “Hot Dip” the nail must literally be dipped into a vat of molten zinc. If it’s not dipped in zinc then it’s not Hot Dip. It’s something else.

A word of caution
Be on the lookout for imposters who claim to be hot dip but are instead some form of ceramic tri-laminate coated proprietary galvanization. If you’re buying Hot Dip Galvanized nails ask questions to make sure you’re getting true hot dip nails.

On this page you will find four different types of Hot Dip Coil Nails.

  • 0 Degree Plastic Inserted collation specifically for Duo-Fast Coil Nailers are also known as Intermediate coil nails. The plastic inserted collation lessens the possibility of flying collation debris while nailing; also providing a cleaner looking surface after the nail is driven. Applications include Light framing, decking, siding, fencing, wood shakes, cedar shingles for both new roofs and re-roofing, cementitious fiber board products, box and crate assembly.

  • 15 Degree Plastic Inserted collation is designed to fit all 15 degree coil siding nailers that are equipped to accept plastic collation.

  • 15 Degree Wire Weld collation is by far the most popular type of coil nail made to fit the majority of coil nailers in circulation. As a more economic choice to plastic insert collation the wire weld breaks off when struck by the driver blade of the coil nailer and driven down into the material with the nail. Applications include Light framing, decking, siding, fencing, wood shakes, cedar shingles for both new roofs and re-roofing, cementitious fiber board products, box and crate assembly.

  • Coil Roofing Nails are specialty nails made to fit only coil roofing nailers. What makes them a specialty nail is the fact that, regardless of the length, the heads are always 3/8” diameter and the shank diameter is always 0.120” [11 gauge] All coil roofing nailers are made to accept these specifications except for 1 tool made by Bostitch, the cordless CRN38K. This 1 model out of countless others was made to accept only 17 degree coil roofing nails which means you cannot use the industry's standard 15 degree coil roofing nails. If you have this model then you will have to buy Bostitch’s specific cartridge coil nails.

All our ASTM A153-D Hot Dip Nails meet and/or exceed the United States standard for Hot Dip Zinc Mass Coating of ASTM A153 class D Fasteners and are made using either of two processes:

Old World Hot Dipping referred to as HDG grade on our website. HDG grade nails are first cut to length and heads formed from a large spool of brite steel wire rod. Then nails are Hot Dipped into Molten Zinc until a thick uniform coating is achieved across the entire surface of the nail. Next, the nails are either packaged in bulk or collated together into strips or coils. Our HDG Nails meet and or exceed the ASTM A153 Class D Fastener specification.

Made from Hot Dipped wire referred to as HDGW grade on our website. HDGW grade nails are cut to length and heads formed from a large spool of Hot Dipped wire rod. Our HDGW nails will meet and/or exceed the ASTM A153 Class D Fastener specification.
