As a craftsman, a do-it-yourselfer, or a purchasing agent for a construction company, you may own BeA staplers or ones that operate similarly. As a result, you need ½” crown 80 series staples to fit your fastening machine(s). As you can see from the variety of crown staples on this page, you can get what you need from Fastener USA.
All of these crown staples are made of 21 gauge, galvanized steel. This means that your staples will be a bit stronger than the 22 gauge used in other staplers. It also means that they will resist corrosion much better than bare steel. If you are repairing or manufacturing screen doors, corrosion resistance can make a difference since the door will be exposed to the elements.
You will also notice the various lengths and quantities of ½” crown 80 series staples available. If you need to fasten some thin materials, go with the ¼” length. If you are fastening roofing felt into wooden beams or plywood sheets, use the 5/8” length. You can buy boxes of these crown staples if you need 10,000 pieces or fewer. This may be appropriate if you have a small business that manufactures furniture or repairs upholstery, or you are a small repair business or shoe manufacturer. If your volume is high, it makes economic sense to buy a case, which includes ten boxes but costs only six times as much as one box. In addition, shipping is free.
Because these crown staples are electro plated with zinc it is important to realize their limitations. The zinc coating will react with the chemicals in ACQ treated lumber, causing faster corrosion and staining of the wood. Fastener USA offers staples in other metals for use with this kind of lumber.
