Features & Benefits

  • The OMG Lite-Deck Fastener is FM and Miami-Dade County approved.
  • Deep, coarse thread provides high pullout resistance.
  • Can be installed into cementitious wood fiber decks without predrilling.
  • 6-Lobe (T40) drive enhances installation and minimizes cam-outs.
  • T40 bit included in each carton.
  • Available for installing insulation and membrane*

*The Lite-Deck fastener is only FM approved for use with Lite-Deck insulation plates for fully adhered and insulation securement applications. FM does not approve mechanically attached systems into Tectum or Gypsum. Always consult with roof system manufacturer for the latest approval ratings.Application

  • The OMG Lite-Deck Fastener can be installed into cementitious wood fiber decks without predrilling. A pilot hole is required for gypsum. Hole size is determined by pullout results.
  • The OMG Lite-Deck Fastener must penetrate the deck a minimum of 2-in. (51-mm). Using a screw gun, drive the fastener until a slight depression is seen around the plate, or with very rigid insulation boards, watch for the plate to dimple.
  • Note: Prior to job bid, contact OMG to perform a pullout test to determine the pullout values. Also, care must be taken not to overdrive the fastener, causing subsequent damage to the insulation facer. Fastener must be tight enough so that the plate does not turn.

Lite-Deck Fastener Length Selection Procedure

  1. If applicable, determine the thickness of the existing roofing material.
  2. Add thickness of new insulation.
  3. Add 2-inch (51-mm) minimum fastener penetration.Note: When predrilling, allow extra 1/2-in. (13mm).
  4. If odd size requirement, always size up in length, not down.

Plates & Accessories

  • A specially designed 3-in. (75-mm) steel plate can be used when securing insulation or Lite-Deck Batten Bar can be used when securing membrane*. Lite-Deck Bar is 18-gauge (1.3-mm gauge) and available with 6- or 12-in. (150- or 300-mm) OC hole spacing. It comes in 10-ft. (3.05-m) lengths, 50 pieces/tube.
