Details

10" CD-10 Fastener OMG CD010 for Structural Concrete. Use 7/32" Drill Bit.

The OMG CD-10 is a hammer-in, non-threaded fastener designed to secure insulation and single-ply membrane to structural concrete. The CD-10 is Factory Mutual and Miami-Dade County approved.
Physical Data

  • Fastener Length: 10" (255-mm)
  • Split Bulb Shank Diameter: .270/.277" (6.85/7.03-mm)
  • Point Angle: 45°
  • Head Style: Flat Top Pan Head
  • Head Diameter: .435" (11.04-mm)
  • Head Height: .115" (2.92-mm)
  • Weight 28 pounds

Features & Benefits

  • Diamond point allows easier installation and less chance of hole damage.
  • Split bulb exerts pressure on walls of hole, producing remarkable holding power.
  • Strongest hammer-in fastener available.
  • Typical pullout values in cured concrete (3000 psi / 20MPa) are over 800 lbs. (363.2kg). A pullout test is recommended.
  • The OMG CD-10 is FM and Miami-Dade County approved.

Coating

  • OMG CR-10 corrosion resistant coating exhibits less than 15% red rust after 30 Kesternich cycles. CR-10 coating exceeds FM Approval Standard 4470.

Application

  • Predrill a 7/13-in. (6-mm) hole using a carbide drill bit. The fastener is then installed with a 2 lb. (2.27kg) short-handle sledge hammer.
  • Minimum fastener embedment into the deck should be 1-in. (25-mm). The predrilled hole must be a minimum of 1/2-in. (13-mm) deeper than fastener embedment.
  • Note: Prior to job start, contact OMG to perform a pullout test to determine the pullout values. Also, care must be taken not to overdrive the fastener causing subsequent damage to the insulation facer.

CD-10 Length Selection Procedure

  1. If applicable, determine the thickness of the existing roofing material.
  2. Add thickness of new insulation.
  3. Add 1-inch (25-mm) minimum fastener penetration.
  4. If odd size requirement, always size up in length, not down.

Plates & Accessories

Pilot Holes

  • Use a 7/32-in. (6-mm) carbide tip SDS or straight shank drill bit.
