These 1 1/4" length #T20 Star drive Flat Head YELLOW ZINC Type '17' point screws are #8 diameter COARSE THREAD. Yellow zinc is a plating that is applied electrically to fasteners that prevents oxidation of steel by forming a protective barrier. Plating thickness .0003" Rated at 180/hrs salt spray. Not recommended for ACQ Treated lumber. For ACQ Treated lumber we recommend W.A.R. Coated or 305 Grade Stainless Steel. FLAT HEAD with countersinking NIBS create a smooth flush finish. STAR DRIVE prevents camout and stripping for the best driveability available. Increased diameter makes for superior holding and greater pull out values. Type 17 point (also known as Auger Point) is a thread cutting screw for wood with a coarse tapping screw thread and a special long sharp point fluted to capture chips which provides no predrilling and reduces wood splitting.
